I chose a lotus because of something a friend of mine told me about the way a lotus grows. When it sprouts, it grows up from the mud and comes to float on the water. Even though it starts in the dirtiest, darkest place, it comes through it as something beautiful. I figured it kind of resembles my life. Through all of the dark, difficult shit I’ve dealt with, I am determined to pull through and make something beautiful of my life.
